The Green and surrounds have been continuously maintained over the winter months, but the hosepipe ban does apply to our club and may mean that the playing surface might not be as good as we would expect this year. Perhaps we can organise watering can parties so if any members know how to do a rain dance then their help would be appreciated!
2012 is promising to be an busy year for us. On August Bank Holiday weekend we are hosting the three major Shepway tournaments. The Shepway Finals on Saturday 25th, The Ladies Eve Harrold Rose Bowl on Sunday 26th and the Mens Wood Cup on Monday 27th. Organising and running these events requires a major committment from members and your help and support will be greatly appreciated.
Based on a photo in the clubhouse dated 1997 showing our Silver Jubilee members this would make 2012 our 40th aniversary. No doubt we can share with our Queen's Jubilee celebrations. No parties on the green please. We do have an extra internal competition on the agenda in June (Father's Day) and will be based on a Yardstick. So put it in your diary now.
I hope all members get to play in as many matches as they can, enter as many competitions as they can, and help in running the club as best they are able.
