Work underway on the ditches
Here is what the Tuesday Gang were greeted by this week...
Enough to give a green keeper a pale complexion
About half a metre of green has been cleanly removed allround.
Work had already started on removing the old railway sleepers which have been in place since the great storm of '87.
Here are some more photos. Click each for a larger view.

Sellindge Bowls awarded Inspired Facility Grant
We are very excited to announce that Sellindge Bowls has been awarded a grant of £53500 by Sport England to refurbish the ditches and green surrounds.
This will substantially enhance the excellent green which we have and assist us in attracting new members. We are particularly keen to interest young people and those with a disability for whom we have very good facilities.
The award is an Inspired Facility Grant which forms part of the legacy of the 2012 London Olympic and paralympic Games

Sellindge Bowls represented in the Shepway Junior Championship.
Calum had a great day on Sunday at the Shepway Competitions competing in the Junior Singles.
Starting at 0930 with a round robin all playing 4 matches. After a great lunch they held the Semi Finals then Finals. Calum made it all the way to the Finals losing out only to a very good county bowler on home soil. Overall there was a very good standard of bowls and Calum can be congratulated playing so well.
I am sure we have a star of the future. Its very encouraging to see young members taking an interest.
The The draw for the competitions has been made and posted on the notice board.
Please be aware of a change of format for this season.
The Mixed Triples will now be held as a one day event in August.
The three days we normally allocate to the Triples will be set aside for the Club Pairs competitions.
Like last year they will be held as round robin matches. Each team to play one match each month from June - August.
The first round is Thursday 11th June at 6pm. Please check your diary for this date.
If you are not available you will need to arrange to play before this date or provide a substitute.
Good Luck and enjoy your matches.
The Season Commences
The new season is upon us. The grass is green, freshly cut
and let's hope the sun shines bright.
The Tuesday maintenance team has been busy throighout the winter keeping the clubhouse and green surrounds in trim. Also the green keeper and his trusty band of men have been looking after the green for all our benefit. It should be in lovely condition for our season.
A group of players recently headed to Portugal for a bowling
holiday. More of this to follow but some photos can be found
in the gallery.
Have a great season and looking forward to another successful season.
Signing-on night is Friday 27th March at 7pm in the Social Club. Please do come along and bring your subs, Competition entry forms and of course a raffle prize. See you there.
